We continued working on monologues today, then spent the last part of class learning new theatre games. Students will be performing their monologues tomorrow for a grade.
Students were given advice on their upcoming monologue performances, as well as the rubric to be used. In the auditorium, students worked on using their bodies to portray a character, then teamed up with a partner to rehearse.
Students dissected their monologues today. Afterwards, we did vocal and body character work in the auditorium, then ended with a theatre game.

Students took the Actor's Toolbox quiz, learned about some memorization techniques for use with their monologues, and then did some character work in the auditorium.
Students selected their monologues and then filled out GOTE sheets as their characters. Towards the end of class, we continued our improvisational work by performing 2-person scenes.
Students completed the contentless scenes. I handed out the performance expectations for their monologue assignment. To end class, we did some improv scenes using the scenario book.
